Interview With the Kavvanah Blog…
Dr. Alan Brill of the blog known as the Book of Doctrines and Opinions(also known as the Kavvanah blog) has interviewed yours truly. this the first part of a scheduled two part series. So if you want to hear me answer all the questions that you always wanted to ask but never did, or just want my thoughts on various things related to Kabbalah and blogging, check it out.
I just want to say(partially because I want to get my word count up and not be overly penalized by Google Panda) that it was a real pleasure doing this interview with Dr. Brill. His questions were respectful as well as thought provoking. They made me get a bit introspective which is always good in an interview, and I think the final product is really great. I hope all of you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed doing it.
Absolutely fascinating interview so far! Thanks! I got interested in Judaism through (the little I knew about) Kabbalah. At the time, I was once sitting in my apartment, when a frum fellow came around selling books of kabbalah (from the Kabbalah Center…) Although it was very interesting hashgacha pratis, my wife wouldn’t let him in!
I ended up at a Chabad yeshiva telling them I wanted to study kabbalah. (Which I do know in addition to Chassidut.)
Yasher koach, I look forward to part 2.
Yashar Koach, very nice interview. There is one part he leaves out of the interview where he simply says “(site editor- He then cut and pasted the online Chabad apologetics.)” that I thought was rude and frankly beneath Rabbi Brill. Would you be able to fill in the gap that he omitted?
He’s right, I did cut an paste from Chabad.org. Never really saw any point in reinventing wheels and all that. I think he was just frustrated by it.
“To give people a better idea, I would say that for the average person the Amidah takes about 20-30mins to get through.”
Is that 3 times a day?
Yes.
