About the Blog
For starters, let me state for the record that I do not teach “Kabbalah” on this blog. What this blog is, and has always been intended to be, is a window into the life of one person(myself), as well as their thoughts, feelings, struggles and triumphs, along the path of learning Kabbalah. In the meantime I hope to share words of hizuk(strengthening) with my fellow travelers upon life’s path.
It is inevitable that various Kabbalistic concepts will come up and be integrated into the posts, some quite explicitly, once again that is not an attempt to teach Kabbalah online, on a blog ect… That is simply because in walking this journey those things have(or will G-d willing) become an integral part of my worldview.
So just to recap the blog is about me, myself and I… as well as the world around me as it is processed through the filter of me, myself and I. I hope to speak(authoritatively at least) for no one other than me, myself, and I. This is a rule that I will break from time to time(and have already) but what it boils down to is this, all life is about perception. Two of us could read the exact same piece of information in a history book, and come to two very different conclusions based on our perceptions. That is human nature. So what I am doing here is admitting that, and taking responsibility for my own perceptions, which admittedly may not be dead on target all of the time.
Below is a copy of a comment I tried to send to the “Contact Us” form in the Jerusalem Post, about their Date Format problem. My message did not get accepted, due to some kind of computer error about the Internet. (I am a computer programmer from way back but still not so savvy with Internet technology.) Can you please figure out how to contact them about their date formatting problem? Thank you.
=========================================================
There is an article from the Jerusalem Post circulating on the Internet now by bloggers about “three more suspected pedophiles being arrested in Nachlaot on August 1, 2012.” Actually the article is really from January 8, 2012. The source of the confusion is that the on-line date format at Jerusalem Post for the article says 01/08/2012 (dd/mm/yyyy) and when you choose to print, the printed date format is 08/01/2012 (mm/dd/yyyy).
this one says 01/08/2012:

this one says 08/01/2012:

Please do something to correct this mistaken information which is being circulated. Perhaps it would be appropriate to put a notice on your website that the arrests occurred in January, not now. And also, it may be a good idea to show the full English spelling of months in your date formats “January 8, 2012, “August 1, 2012″, in all instances so that there is not confusion between the various numeric date formats which are possible. (I am an unemployed computer programmer and could help out if changing the date formats entails a lot of boring busy work for you…let me know. I did a lot of work way back when changing from yy to yyyy for the Year 2000 conversion so I have related experience.) Thank you!
Dear Rabbi:
I succeeded to post my comment at the Jerusalem Post about the date format problem. (It required me to subscribe to their e-mail updates in order to post the comment.) I think it might be helpful if you could also tell them that you would like them to fix their date format problem. It probably has been a source of confusion to other people as well, and not just in connection with the Nachlaot arrests, but in general. Perhaps if others point out that they would like the Jerusalem Post to fix the date format problem, they may be more inclined to deal with it.
I understand that many other bloggers on the Internet also have been circulating the article about the Nachlaot arrests with the incorrect date information. It might be a good idea for you to point this out and warn people about the mistake, since you are a popular, frequently read blog author. (But that is up to you, of course.)
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gertrude
